Frequently
Asked Questions (FAQ)
What are
your windows made of?
We
fabricate from our own aluminum extrusions. We do not make steel
windows.
What is
your lead time?
Leadtime
can vary from 5 to 8 weeks, depending upon styles, quantities
and workload in-house.
Why does
it take so long?
Because
the windows are custom made and we must order glass from an outside
supplier, it takes 5-8 weeks to finish an order. Painted frames
require 2 weeks at the finisher.
When does
my leadtime begin?
Your
leadtime begins when we have a signed confirmation which shows
the sizes and quantities of your order as well as the types of
windows you are ordering. If the order requires a deposit, the
deposit is required before the leadtime starts.
What is
your credit policy?
We
require a deposit and COD for the first 2 orders. After the credit
application is approved, account will be net 30. Large/custom
orders always require balance being paid down to credit limit
before delivery.
Do you
make true divided lites?
We
have 6 sizes of muntin bars and we specialize in true divided
lites.
What is
the most important thing to do to make my windows and doors operate
smoothly?
The
single most important factor in the smooth operation of our product
is a plumb and square installation. If your casement or door does
not close easily, check it with a level, square and plumb line.
Make this check BEFORE stucco is applied.
Do you
make windows other than standard sizes?
All
of our windows are "made to order". We have nothing in "stock".
Therefore, we can make your windows to the exact size you need.
Do you
make sliders?
No,
we make casements, fixed, hoppers and awning windows. We make
all sorts of custom combination windows. But we make nothing that
slides.
Do you
come to the jobsite and measure?
We
do not come to the jobsite and measure windows. We specialize
in window fabrication. You will need to call a window dealer or
installer to measure your windows. You will need to buy your windows
from this person if you want them to take the responsibility for
the measurements.
Shall I
give you rough openings or window sizes?
We
can work with "make" sizes or rough opening sizes. You need to
clearly state that you are giving rough opening sizes if you do
so. If it is not stated, we assume "make" sizes.
Can I get
sloped glazing bead that looks like putty glazing?
We
have sloped glazing stop for single glass and also a limited selection
of sloped bead for dual glass. Check the glazing bead details
on this website for the styles of bead available in the window
series you are interested in.

install my windows?
